    Clan Childlaw

    Clan Childlaw is a unique legal and advocacy service for children and young people. Delivers free, confidential legal advice and representation in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Glasgow. The service helps children and young people up to the age of 18, or 21 if they have been Looked After. Provides free information and guidance about children's rights and the law to family members, carers and adults who work with children or young people in Scotland.

    EARS Independent Advocacy Service

    EARS provides independent advocacy to a number of different people.West Lothian - provides services to people over 16 with a physical disability, acquired brain injury, stroke survivors, a learning disability, Autism or anyone over 65.Midlothian - provides services to people over 16 with a physical disability, an acquired brain injury, stroke survivors or anyone over 65.East Lothian - provides services to people over 16 with a physical disability, an acquired brain injury, stroke survivors or anyone over 65.Edinburgh - provides services to anyone who has survived a stroke.

    Kindred Edinburgh

    Kindred supports families by providing emotional and peer support, information and advocacy.
    The  team supports families with children with complex and exceptional health care needs in Edinburgh and Fife.
    The hospital team supports families who have a child who is inpatient at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.

    NHS Lothian CAMHS – Intellectual Disability Service

    The CAMHS Intellectual Disability Service (formerly Child Learning Disability Service) works with children and young people who are between 0 to 18 years old and have significant developmental delay or a learning disability (with or without autism), and have mental health or complex behavioural problems. The specialist team also works closely with and supports families and carers. As well as an outpatient service, they also offer specialist Early Years and Intensive Treatment Services.

    NHS Lothian Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service, West Lothian

    Children and young people aged 0-18 years are referred to CAMHS if there are significant concerns about their mental health or wellbeing and when their difficulties are impacting upon their day- to-day life.  Every school should have a named contact for specialist children and adolescent mental health services.

    NHS Lothian Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

    CAMHS stands for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. These services work with children and young people (from age 5 to their 18th birthday), and their parents or carers. NHS Lothian CAMHS provides specialist assessment/intervention as part of a tiered system, which can include consultation and advice prior to referral, and assessment appointment to establish clinical need and priority status. NHS Lothian CAMHS is made up of a number of different teams. All CAMHS teams work closely with medical staff, schools and other professionals.

    Resolution Mediation Scotland

    The Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004 places a duty on local authorities to provide access to independent mediation for resolving disputes with parents and carers of children and young people with additional support needs. We call this Additional Support Needs (ASN) Mediation.  Mediation is a flexible way of solving problems or disagreements in a whole range of situations. It can help the people involved to find a way forward, working with an impartial, independent mediator.  The mediator is not employed by the Council, but provides services to Local Authority as an independent company, Resolution Mediation Scotland.  Please contact us if you are looking to arrange mediation in the Edinburgh and West Lothian area.
