In this Q&A session, Enquire helpline staff discussed care experienced children and young people’s rights to additional support for learning.

They answered questions about:

  • the rights of family members including parents, adoptive parents, kinship carers, and foster carers to be involved in decisions about their child’s education
  • how you and your child’s school or nursery can work together to support them get the most from their learning
  • the legal duties on local authorities, schools and nurseries to support their pupils with care experience
  • the steps you can take if you are not happy with support being provided to your child.
