Our staff

Annie has worked with Enquire since 2017, stepping into the role of Advice and Information Manager and then Service Manager in 2022. Annie’s role is to have oversight of the running of Enquire service and the advice and information we provide. Previously Annie has worked in a range of roles in autism and family support organisations, including at the University of Strathclyde working on the delivery of the Scottish Strategy for Autism and as a manager in an outreach support service for autistic adults.

Jennifer joined Enquire in January 2023, leading on our communications strategy and stakeholder engagement. She works to ensure the direct experiences of children, young people and families informs policy and practice development, and is also the communications lead for the Inclusion Ambassadors group. Previously, Jennifer was part of the Children in Scotland communications team where she was Editor of the member magazine for 10 years.

Hannah is a Senior Advice and Information Officer supporting the delivery and development of Enquire’s advice and information including our helpline, website and outreach programme. Previously, Hannah worked with the Scottish Government in education policy and as an employment support worker for young adults with learning difficulties. Hannah studied Social Anthropology at Aberdeen University and was a member of Edinburgh Sick Children’s Hospital Young People’s Advisory Board for 7 years.

Mark is a Senior Advice and Information Officer supporting the delivery and development of Enquire’s advice and information including our helpline, website and outreach programme. Mark has supported children and young people who face challenges to their learning as a mentor and a children’s panel member. He has a Scots law degree and previously worked in a range of roles with Citizens Advice Scotland, including as an In-Court Adviser.

As Senior Children’s Rights Officer Lucy oversees Enquire’s work to raise awareness of children’s rights to be included, supported and listened to in decisions about their education and support. Lucy takes the lead on engaging with children and young people and generating opportunities for them to have effective and fulfilling participation in Enquire’s work – including the Reach website. Lucy’s background lies in education. She joined Children in Scotland in August 2018, bringing with her a range of experience from her previous role as a teacher where she actively championed children’s rights.

Beth joined Enquire as an Advice and Information Officer in June 2021. Previously, Beth worked directly with children and young people with additional support needs in a mainstream educational setting. She also has a PGCert in Mental Health and Education. In her spare time, Beth volunteers with the Scouts, supporting children in her local area to have fun, adventure, and contribute to their community.

Lisa started with Enquire as Advice and Information Officer in August 2022. In this role, Lisa offers advice and information on children and young people’s rights to additional support for learning. In her previous role, Lisa worked for Support in Mind Scotland’s Distress Brief Intervention Team, which is based in the Highlands. Lisa provided emotional and practical advice and support to people experiencing distress. Her COSCA qualification in counselling skills came into good use for this job and she enjoys using a person centred approach in her work.

Sharon is one of Enquire’s team of Advice and Information Officers, joining the team in August 2021. As a parent of a child with complex additional support needs herself, Sharon brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the lived experiences of the families we support, and the issues parents and carers need advice and information about. Prior to joining Enquire, Sharon worked in finance for over 10 years and then worked for Police Scotland for 17 years. She has also supported carers through her peer support work with Midlothian’s carers centre, Vocal.

As Children’s Rights and Communication Officer Robert develops empowering messages and digital resources to champion children’s rights to additional support for learning. Before joining Enquire in 2020, Robert background was in is in community development working on a range of social justice projects. Robert is also a Participation and Engagement Associate at Children in Scotland and My Rights, My Say supporting children to have a say in the decisions about their education and support.

Jacqueline is part of Enquire’s communications team leading on all aspects of design with a particular focus on digital and print materials. Jacqueline previously studied architecture for three years and has an HND in photography. She also worked as a freelance photographer for several years and ran her own art and photography gallery.

Enquire welcomed Mohit as Communications Officer in the summer of 21. Mohit has a background in communications and a degree in Marketing, which has helped support and lead on Enquire’s communications. His expertise on using digital communications supports us further in reaching parents, carers and professionals in need of advice and information. Mohit has had varied roles over the years, working in the charity sector including Marketing and Projects Officer roles within West of Scotland Racial Equality Council and GalGael.

Grant develops and maintains Enquire’s websites and suite of databases as well as providing IT support to the Enquire team. Grant has previously worked in various organisations seeking to achieve equality for disabled people in housing, voting, education and health. In addition to his Children in Scotland role, he is CEO of S’up Products Ltd. The company sells the S’up spoon – the spoon for shaky hands – that Grant created as a result of personal need.
