Enquire is a lifeline for parents who are struggling and need help as far as educational policies and law are concerned
What happens after I have made a placing request?
The education authority must inform you in writing about its decision on your placing request. If it refuses your request, it must give you the reasons why.
However, if you have not received a decision in writing within two months of making a placing request then the request is considered to be refused. (This is sometimes called a deemed refusal.) If you made a placing request before the 15 March for your child to start a different school after the summer holidays and you have not received a decision in writing by the 30th April this is also a deemed refusal.
