When did Additional Support for Learning legislation come into force?
The Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004, came into force in November 2005. The law spelled out the rights of parents and pupils to get the additional support they need to become successful learners. It also set in place the framework for schools, local authorities and other agencies to make sure this happens.
Has the Additional Support for Learning Act changed?
The Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004 was amended in 2009. The changes form a new Act that was passed in June 2009.
