Pre-School Home Visiting Service, Scottish Borders

Summary

The Pre School Home Visiting Teacher Service is the service working with parents to provide an initial assessment of needs and ongoing support as required. Parents must give their consent for the child to receive the support offered. There is also a complementary service providing information, advice and support for private nursery providers to support them to meet the needs of children with additional support needs. Where a CSP is likely to be required (from the age of three in most cases), the Pre School Home Visiting Service will discuss with the parent the involvement of the Educational Psychology service from at least six months before this.
